Types of lenses used by Ray-Ban

Ray-Ban uses four different types of lenses for sunglasses. The lens that B15 XLT) G15 XLT lenses, polarized lenses and normal lenses, which do not discuss here because it's nothing special about them (but only in different colors.

B15 XLT Lens

Ray-Ban B15 XLT lenses are brown, blocking 100% of UV rays and allow only 15% of visible light to pass through them (which is a discount of 85% is!). Brown lenses offer a bit 'moreContrast by reducing the amount of blue light, like a lens G15 (which is described in next section). The blue light is easily seen through the eyes and has the effect of softening the other colors that are harder to make our vision. In other words, reducing the amount of blue light, the differences between the colors and brightness of objects more pronounced.

G15 XLT Lens

G15 XLT lenses have the same quality as the B15 XLT lenses, butThey are gray / greenish color. The G15 lens is to develop the original lens, the military pilot who asked Ray-Ban. The challenge was to provide a lens that "it was a neutral color, in other words, a lens that filters the light, such as drawing the human eye. If you have a lens that gives you a little 'less than the contrast between colors, then the G15 XLT lens is for you, because it provides a similar sensitivity to color the human eye. With an aim lower, however, the difference in color and brightnessItems will be dampened. This means that the colors viewed through these lenses are natural and soft on the eyes.

Both B15 and G15 XLT lenses are made of impact-resistant optical glass, which is resistant to scratches course. Quality and stability are important and, over time it will fade in virtually any color.

Polarized Lens

Polarized lenses reduce significantly the amount of glare produced by reflective surfaces such as water orother objects semi-transparent, and even some metal surfaces. Glare refers to the difficulty of light.

Sunlight, for example, the surfaces bounces in all directions (), which is vertical, horizontal or diagonal. For those who are active on a "horizontal" means that means that the sunlight bounced horizontally across the eyes in a similar way. This causes constriction of the pupils and reduce the contrast significantly. Therefore, drivers have difficulty seeing theWay to go, when they go under very sunny (the sun) before them.

Polarized lenses have a laminated surface with vertical strips of a filter, which can actually cut horizontally and vertically polarized light, only the polarized light in. In other words, create, if you happen on a clear lake, you'll probably see the surface or driving a car, you can now progress towards the future.

Some limitations for the lenses that are polarized LCD --Display may be distorted, or you can create a notice of "rainbow" effect when you take the car, the windows are tinted.

All 3 items are very useful, particularly the polarization, but expect to pay a premium for sunglasses.

Lens Base

The base lens refers only to the base curve or the curve in front of the lens "diopter" is measured, which is a term that counts only for the optician. You will discover that many of the Ray-Ban aviator have a "base of the lens 6", which essentially means thatare sufficiently curved and designed to function as sunglasses (that is, covering his eyes enough).

Wire diameter

Lens Size is measured in millimeters and refers to the length (or width) of a lens. Keep your eyes when they make a purchase. Many of Ray-Ban models are available in various dimensions of the lens. Make sure you get the size that fits your face, or you can do at the end with a pair of shades that fit air properly.

Some of Ray-Ban Sunglasses have lens sizethat extra small, small, etc. This is for models that do not resemble traditional glasses with two lenses are called common. These sunglasses have a UNI "lens" design, in which the lenses are perfectly connected with the bridge. For this reason, the traditional dimensions apply. These nuances are looking for a way up.
